Michael Darwin is the proud founder and pitmaster of Turkey’s Barbecue, carrying on a long-standing tradition of Southern Pitt-style BBQ. After years of working alongside the experienced team at Thomas Pitt's renowned restaurant, Michael honed his skills in the art of slow-cooked barbecue. When Thomas Pitt retired, Michael took it upon himself to preserve those time-honored recipes and techniques, opening Turkey’s Barbecue in 2015. His dedication to creating flavorful, tender barbecue dishes has made Turkey’s a local favorite in Harvest, Alabama, and beyond.

Michael’s passion for barbecue goes beyond just cooking—it’s about bringing people together through food. Known for his signature dishes like ribs, potato salads, and sweet vinegar slaw, Michael ensures that every meal served at Turkey’s is crafted with care and tradition. His reputation as a popular holiday cook only further solidifies his commitment to providing his community with high-quality, delicious meals that remind people of home. With plans to expand Turkey’s Barbecue through online sales and delivery, Michael continues to share his love for Southern BBQ with an ever-growing audience.
